Barge

General

  • Barge - barge into a two way calls to make it a three ways by using the internal (built-in) conference capability on the phone
  • cBarge - uses shared conference bridge for the barge. Allow more flexibility in terms or codec.
  • Privacy - stop someone from barging in
  1. Original two party call
  2. Initiator barges into the call and turn it into a three ways call
    • If initiator hangs up, original call remains active
    • If target hangs up, initiator and other party connect point-to-point
    • If other party hangs up, original call and barged call are released

Configuration Barge

Shared Line

  • To use barge, we must have a shared line
  • Without barge, the first person to answer the shared line will have exclusive access to this line

Enable Barge

  • Enable barge clusterwide CallManager service parameters

  • Enable barge on the device level

Softkey

  • Add the barge/cbarge button to the phone softkey template

Configuration Privacy

  • When privacy button is enabled, the barge button will not appear when the shared line is in a call

Enable Privacy

  • Enable privacy clusterwide

  • Enable privacy at device level

Phone Button Template

  • Assign Privacy button to the Phone Button Template of the phone

Service Parameters

  • Party entrance tone set to true to play a tone when someone barge into the call
